FREE PATTERN: Kitchen Scrubbies

Updated: Feb 22

Introducing the “Kitchen Scrubby”

These Kitchen Scrubbies will make easy work of your dirty dishes.

They’re also great for cleaning fruits & veggies.

Included are 2 different patterns: #1 – Basic Scrubby #2 – Bobbled Scrubby

Materials:

▸ Yarn: ~10 yds of 100% Cotton Yarn AND ~10 yds of Scrubby yarn ▸ Hook: 6.0mm ▸ Other: 1 Button (size varies depending on size of buttonhole you choose) ▸ Scissors ▸ Darning Needle ▸ Stitch Markers

Stitches & Abbreviations:

US Terminology ▸ * * – Repeat stitch pattern between * * ▸ Ch# – Chain the number noted ▸ st – Stitch/Stitches ▸ SS – Slip Stitch ▸ SC – Single Crochet ▸ HDC – Half Double Crochet ▸ DC – Double Crochet ▸ BO Bobble – DC4TOG (Double Crochet 4 TOGether) in the same st, then pull thru all 5 loops on the hook.

Notes & Special Instructions:

▸You will work this whole pattern with 1 strand EACH of the cotton & scrubby yarn held together. ▸This pattern is worked in ROUNDS. You will NOT TURN your work at any point. ▸Chains at beginning of rounds do NOT count as a stitch. ▸Total number of stitches per round in (#) at end. ▸Bobble stitches can be hard to do with the scrubby yarn. A Bobble of DC3Tog will work good too. ▸If you prefer, instead of the Bobble stitches you can use Puff or Popcorn stitches. ▸ I tend to crochet TIGHT, so you may need to adjust your hook size &/or beginning number of stitches to accommodate. NOTE: Gauge is not critical for this pattern. ▸ I suggest using the invisible join for a seamless look. Heart Hook Home video tutorial
